Known simply as Murad, Hamid Ali Murad lived from 24 September 1911 to 24 April 1997 and was an Indian character actor.

Murad Biography & Education

Murad -Introduction: In the Hindi cinema business, his son Raza Murad is also an actor who is well-known for primarily playing antagonistic characters. His granddaughters Sonam and Sanober Kabir are actors, as is his niece Zeenat Aman.  He starred in more than 100 Hindi language movies between the early 1940s and the end of the 1980s, portraying characters such as a father, police officer, judge, and emperor.

Murad’s Early Life and Career

In British India’s Uttar Pradesh province, Murad was born on September 24, 1910. At Aligarh Muslim University, he attended Minto Circle, also known as the STS High School. 

Early in the 1940s, Mehboob Khan’s 1943 film Najma marked Murad’s acting debut. This marked the start of his career. Despite only being a year older than Ashok Kumar, he played his father in the movie. He began frequently appearing in Mehboob Khan’s movies, which include Anmol Ghadi, which hit the theaters in 1946, then Andaz, released in 1949.

After that, Aan came out in 1952, and finally, Amar was shown in 1954. He also played the ruthless landowner in Do Bigha Zamin (1953), the father in Devdas (1955), and the maharajah in Tarzan Goes to India (1962), a Hollywood production. From the 1960s to the 1980s, he primarily played judges or police commissioners.

Murad’s Personal Life

There are no details present about his wife. Also, there is no update on this by sources. Still, we know about his son, who also worked as an actor, and his name was Raza Murad, who became well famous in the Indian film industry for his villain roles as he was best suited as the villain because of his personality.

Murad also has two daughters in; one worked as a costume designer and also produced a few movies; and name of his 1st daughter is Sabina Kabir, and the second daughter, whose name is Talat Khan, is not that popular, but she is well known because she is actress Sonam mother. 

Besides his son and daughter, he also has other family members, which include Zeenat Aman, who also chose the acting profession same as her family members, Sonam, who is also known as Bhaktavar Khan is Murad’s granddaughter, and Sonebir Khan, who followed the family footsteps and became an actress.

Murad’s Education

We don’t know from which college he studied or which subject he chose in college, but we surely know that he went to a school named STS High School. 

Murad’s Awards and Achievement

There is no information about the awards he won, but he has done more than a hundred Hindi movies, which is an achievement in itself, and because of his realistic acting, he gathered the affection of his fans.

Murad’s Death

Murad, who was 86 years old, died in Mumbai on April 24, 1997. On his death, a huge crowd gathers to say goodbye, showing his popularity and his fans’ love for him.
