After making the difficult decision to enter the field of homeopathy, he labored for the first nine years on a salary of Rs. 150. Later, Dr. Batra decided to open a nearby polyclinic as a private practice.
After two years, Dr. Mukesh Batra opened his practice, Positive Health Clinic, in the South Mumbai neighborhood of Chowpatty in 1982 using a bank loan with an outrageous 36 percent interest rate.
He saw more than 300 patients a day, including politicians, businessmen, movie stars, and leaders of the state. He established the first international clinic in Mauritius in 1996.
