Ayyub was raised in Delhi after being born there in 1984. In 2006, he received his diploma from Kirori Mal College and finished his theatre studies at the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi. In 2007, he wed Rasika Agashe. Their daughter exists.

No One Killed Jessica (2011), a commercially successful semi-biographical thriller directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, featured Ayyub in a derogatory character that led to his nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
In the following years, he made brief appearances in the commercial successes Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Jannat 2 (2012), Raanjhanaa (2013), Shahid (2013), Tubelight (2017), Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019), and Article 15 (2019). (2019).
With small roles in the romantic comedies Tanu Weds Manu: Returns (2015), Raees (2017), and Mission Mangal (2019), which all rank amongst the highest-grossing Indian movies of all time, Ayyub achieved his greatest commercial triumph. His career’s lone main part was in Sameer (2017), which turned out to be one of the worst films of the year.
Recent Projects of Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub
He portrayed a bad character in the Hansal Mehta-directed movie Chhalaang in 2020. Ayyub will be a part of the Ali Abbas Zafar-produced online series Tandav in 2021, which will be available on Amazon Prime Video.
