Vinod Khanna Early Life and Education
Vinod Khanna was born in a Hindu Punjabi family to Kamla and Krishnachand Khanna on 6 October 1946 in Peshawar ( Pakistan).
He completed his education at St.Mary School Bombay, Delhi Public School ( Mathura Road ) Barnes School (Deolali ) and Sydenham College ( Bombay).
Vinod married Geetanjali Taleyarkhan in 1971, later Geetanjali gave birth to two sons Rahul and Akshaye who also followed their father’s legacy of acting. Later, Vinod and Geetanjali got divorced in 1985. Vinod shifted to Rajneeshpuram and acquired the disciple of Osho.
In 1990, Vinod Khanna married Kavita Daftary. Kavita gave birth to two children, a son Sakshi and a daughter Shraddha.

Vinod took a break from the film industry in 1982 and attended disciplined sessions with his guru Osho in Oregon (USA). Later, Osho Ashram was closed by the USA due to some legal issues and Vinod came back to Mumbai and started working in the film industry.
He continued to visit Osho Nisarga Ashram which was situated in Dharamsala (Himalayas) until his last years.

In 1997 Vinod Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and was elected from Punjab Gurdaspur for Constituency. Later after some time, he became Union Minister of Culture and Tourism in July 2002. He was selected as the 16th Lok Sabha for the same constituency. He also served for External Affairs in 2004.
