Tinu Yohannan’s early life: Tinu Yohannan is a former cricket player from India. He was born on February 18, 1979. He bowls right-handed, and his speed is medium to rapid. He was the first player from Kerala ever to represent India in a test or one-day international match. He also played first-class cricket for Kerala. He is currently serving as the coach for the cricket team representing Kerala.

Tinu Yohannan Career

Yohannan, a tall and athletic individual, was chosen for admission to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore during its inaugural year of operation in 2000. After participating in a training session with the MRF Pace Foundation, he reached this conclusion. In the home series against England in December 2001, he made his debut in the test competition.

In the first test, which took place in Mohali, he successfully removed both of the English openers. He took his maiden wicket in a test match with the fourth delivery of the first over he bowled.

Although he got off to a fantastic start, he could not continue playing for the Indian squad because of a decline in his performance. He took part in three tests and an equal number of one-day internationals. His bowling average in test matches is 51 runs allowed per wicket.

Tinu Yohannan Debut

On December 3, 2001, during a cricket match between India and England, Tinu made his debut with the Indian national squad. On May 29, 2002, in West Indies, he played in his first One-Day International match against West Indies. He has five wickets in both one-day internationals and test matches. Between the years 1999 and 2008, he served as Kerala’s representative.

Tinu is the son of T. C. Yohannan, an athlete who competed for India in the long jump event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. T. C. Yohannan held the national record for nearly three decades and competed in the event. Yohannan, the son of a man who once had the record for the long jump at the Asian Games, initially pursued a sports career to emulate his famous father’s accomplishments.

 However, the high jump was his event of choice, and he ended up winning both gold and silver at the junior state level. After seeing an advertisement for the MRF Pace Academy in a newspaper in 1997, he decided to attend the academy.

He then spent the next four years training under Dennis Lillee and TA Sekhar, which played a significant part in him being selected for the Indian Test squad that would face England at home. Since then, he has participated in the occasional test match but has not yet established himself as a regular member of India’s eleven.

Yohannan has a fantastic opportunity to solidify his position in the Indian bowling line-up by taking advantage of the tour to England, which is presented to him as a result of Javagal Srinath’s announcement that he will no longer play Test cricket.
