Tamar Braxton’s Dating Journey from Divorces to the JR Robinson Romance

DR JR Robinson

Tamar and Jeremy “JR” Robinson met on TV, which is where her career started. During her reality dating show Queens Court, their relationship grew, and on the show’s end in March 2023, he asked her to marry him. But by October of that year, things seemed to be going badly, as JR posted a message on Instagram. “Tamar and I are no longer together,” he wrote at the time via Instagram Stories. “I ended the relationship to focus on getting back to positive energy & being a better person.”

They got back together, and on December 25, 2023, Tamar posted on her own Instagram account that the couple was going to get married again. In a sweet video clip, she showed off her new Christmas clothes and re-asked him to marry her. JR got down on one knee, and Tamar looked very happy. After the big event, she showed off a huge, sparkling oval diamond ring.

“3 months ago we thought we HATED each other and we were completely OVER,” she wrote in the caption of the two clips. “Here we are after a simple football game box you got for your birthday and one REAL HARD conversation … we knew that whatever happened in the past was just that and ANYTHING other than US and our family only mattered. So the truth is WE DONT CARE if anyone disagrees with it … we choose to love each other OUTLOUD and PROUD because we found something worth fighting for and forgiving each other for EVERYDAY in front and behind the scenes. @rarebreednola I love you with my entire heart and from now on our troubles are miles away….I’m having myself a Merry little Christmas now.”

Vincent Herbert

After getting divorced from her first husband in 2003, Tamar started dating Vincent Herbert, a record executive, who she met through her older sister Toni. After five years, on November 27, 2008, they got married. In 2013, five more years later, they had a boy named Logan Vincent.

“Happy Father’s Day to the love of my life, my best friend, my husband Vincent Herbert!” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram on Father’s Day in 2013, just after Logan arrived. “Our son Logan Vincent Herbert & I are proud to share this day with you!! We love you soooooo much!!”

After her second marriage didn’t work out, Tamar filed for divorce in 2017 and asked for shared custody of Logan, saying that she and her husband had “irreconcilable differences.” They finished their divorce in 2019, and in 2020, a source told HollywoodLife that the ex-couple was getting along well as co-parents.

“Tamar and Vince are finally in a really good place again, and she’s very happy about it,” a source told HL at the time. The source also said that Vince continued to help her with her work even after they broke up. “They’ve only been able to work together so closely again since things got this good.”

Darrell Allemby

In 2001, Tamar married music artist Darrell “Delite” Allamby. The two of them wrote the songs “Once Again” and “Money Can’t Buy Me Love” from her first album, which was released in 2000. It wasn’t meant to be, though. They got a divorce in 2003, only two years after getting married.

Other Relationships

Tamar also dated David Adefeso, a financial planner. Her relationship with him was troubled, and they broke up in 2020. Tamar tried to kill herself at the end of the story. At the time, her relationship with her fiancé was out of control, and she saw no signs of anything wrong. She talked about her mental health problem on Peace Of Mind with Taraji P. Henson on Facebook in December 2020.

“The relationship with my child was surface, meaning like, yeah I check-in, but I wasn’t really checkin’ in. Y’know I would make him some food but I didn’t know if he liked it. She added, “I gained 50 pounds, so I didn’t even recognize myself anymore, that should have been such a huge sign to me, that something is WRONG, that things are not going well at all.”
