An Indian actor, producer, and director who works in Hindi movies, Randhir Raj Kapoor was born on February 15, 1947. He was a well-known actor in the 1970s and was nominated for two Filmfare Awards.
About Randhir Kapoor: Kapoor was born to Punjabi Hindu parents on February 15, 1947, at the Karunakaran Maternity Home in Matunga, Bombay, Bombay Presidency, India (now known as Mumbai, Maharashtra). Before India’s partition, his family relocated to Mumbai from their Kapoor Haveli in Peshawar (now in Pakistan) to pursue performing professions.

- His ancestors were originally from Samundri, which is modern-day Punjab in Pakistan.
- He is a member of the illustrious Kapoor family, who have been active in Hindi cinema since the late 1920s.
- He is the oldest child of Raj Kapoor, an actor and director, and his wife Krishna Kapoor.
- He had two sisters, Rima and deceased entrepreneur Ritu, as well as two brothers, the late Rajiv and Rishi.

Randhir Kapoor Career
- Kapoor made his film debut as a young actor in Shree 420 (1955) and Do Ustad (1959).
- With the 1968 Rajendra Kumar-starring movie Jhuk Gaya Aasman, he rose to the position of assistant director. With the 1971 film Kal Aaj Aur Kal, which also starred his wife, father, and grandparents, Randhir Kapoor made his filmmaking and acting debuts.
- The movie, which was made by R.K., did ok financially.
- Following his acting debut, he appeared in the successful movies Jeet, Raampur Ka Lakshman, and Jawani Diwani, all of which were released in 1972.
- One of the biggest hits of that year was Jawani Diwani. Shatrughan Sinha and Rekha co-starred in the Manmohan Desai-directed film Raampur Ka Lakshman, which also featured music by R.D. Burman. In Jeet, Randhir and Babita were partnered.

Randhir Kapoor Personal Life
- When he was 24 and had co-starred with actress Babita in Kal Aaj Aur Kal, the couple fell in love while filming the movie, and Kapoor married her on November 6, 1971.
- Babita was the daughter of actor Hari Shivdasani. Indian movie stars Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, their two children, were born in June 1980 and June 1974, respectively.
- When Randhir’s acting career began to falter after 1983, and Babita wanted her daughter Karisma to pursue a career in acting, the couple fell out of love and divorced in 1988.
- With her girls at her side, Babita departed Randhir. Although initially opposed, he has now changed his mind and is now in favor of his daughters’ performing careers.
- After living apart for 19 years yet never divorcing, the two got back together in October 2007. Kapoor’s nephew Ranbir Kapoor revealed that the former had dementia in March 2022.
