Mohammad Kaif career
He earned a spot on the national squad due to his stellar play at the Under-19 level when he led the India national under-19 cricket team to victory in the Under-19 World Cup in the year 2000. This led to his promotion to the senior national team.
Mohammad Kaif’s international format
Soon after, Kaif played his maiden Test match in 2000 in Bangalore against South Africa. Shortly after that, he was picked to participate in the first intake of students at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
His early performances on the international stage were thought to be inconsistent, ranging from outstanding to merely average batting performances. His early international career was believed to be uneven.

His most notable achievement was contributing to India’s successful run chase in the 2002 NatWest Series Final with 87 not out off of 75 balls. Because of his efforts, he was awarded the Man of the Match trophy for the very first time.
In the one-day international series in late 2004, he was awarded the title of Man of the Series for his consistent performance across all three games.
Kaif was relatively young when he won himself a Test cap against South Africa at the age of 20; not long after that, he was dropped from the national squad due to some average performances. Late in 2004, Kaif made a triumphant return to the Test team, playing against Australia and scoring two half-centuries.

On July 13, 2018, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Kaif was born in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India, to a family that belonged to the middle class. Green Park Hostel in Kanpur was where he made his professional debut.
Mohammad Tarif Ansari, his father, was a member of the Railways cricket team and the Uttar Pradesh cricket squad. Mohammad Saif, his brother, is a member of the Madhya Pradesh and the Uttar Pradesh cricket teams.
A Noida-based journalist named Pooja Yadav married Kaif in 2011.
