Mayank Agrawal Domestic cricket

  • When he batted for Karnataka against Maharashtra in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, he struck 304 runs without being out, becoming the first player to reach a triple century in first-class cricket. It was the 50th triple century in India’s history of first-class cricket. 
  • He amassed 1,000 runs in first-class cricket during the same month. He finished the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy with 1,160 runs, which made him the tournament’s top run-scorer.
  • He was purchased by the Kings XI Punjab in the 2018 IPL auction in January 2018. With 723 runs in eight games, he was the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy’s top run-scorer in February of that year.
  • With 251 runs in seven games, he was the top run scorer for Karnataka in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was included in India B’s roster for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy in October 2018. He was listed as one of the eight players to watch heading into the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy the following month. He was included on India C’s roster for the 2019–20 Deodhar Trophy in October 2019.

Mayank Agrawal International  career

  • He was included in India’s Test team for their series against the West Indies in September 2018, but he did not participate.
  • After Prithvi Shaw was forced to withdraw from the team due to an ankle injury in December 2018, he was added to India’s Test squad for their series against Australia.
  • On December 26, 2018, he played in his first Test match against Australia, opening the scoring with 76 runs at Melbourne Cricket Ground. The previous record for an Indian cricketer making their Test debut in Australia was 51 runs, established by Dattu Phadkar at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in 1947. This total broke that mark. He participated in the fourth test as well and scored 195 runs for the series. 
  • He became the franchise’s 12th full-time captain on February 28, 2022, when he was named captain of the Punjab Kings.
