Jayant was purchased by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in the 2014 IPL auction for INR 10 Lakhs. He was a team member till 2018. Before the 2019 Indian Premier League season, Delhi Capitals traded him to Mumbai Indians.
For the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy, Jayant was included in the India Green team’s roster. Delhi Capitals included Jayant in their Indian Premier League 2018 squad. However, he didn’t appear in any of the games.
Gujarat Titans purchased him at auction in February of that year for their participation in the Indian Premier League 2022.

Jayant Yadav International career
Jayant was included in India’s Test team for the New Zealand series in September 2016.
In the same match, he took his first ODI wicket (Corey Anderson) for India against New Zealand. Virender Sehwag gave him his one-day international cap.
His Test debut for India came against England at the same venue three weeks later. Moeen Ali was dismissed for just one run via the Umpire Decision Review System in the first innings.
He was the 286th Indian to play in a Test match. Before making his India Test debut, Yadav took 117 wickets in 42 first-class matches. As a batsman and bowler, Jayant is impacting the team.
To date, Jayant has played three tests and amassed three scores of at least 100 and a half-century, for an overall average of more than 73.
When he came in at number 9, he became the first Indian batsman to reach a century. His eighth-wicket partnership of 241 runs with Virat Kohli is the second-best in the world.
Jayant was India’s captain for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in December last year.
