She worked as a manager at Google.org (the part of Google that does charity work) from 2012 to 2017. She was a partner with GV from 2017 to 2019. One of her jobs is to write columns for Forbes magazine.

Before she worked in tech and investment, Deena wanted to be an anthropologist, a writer, a minister, an aid worker, and a technologist. She has been an angel investor in many new businesses since 2014. She is now a partner at Lux Capital as of 2019.[5] The Wall Street Journal named her one of the “Nine Women Shaping Venture Capital Today,” and Business Insider named her one of the “30 Leaders Under 40 in Healthcare.”[6]7.
