An officer with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said that the 57-year-old musician was arrested Thursday in Williamson County, Tennessee.

An officer with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said that the 57-year-old musician was arrested Thursday in Williamson County, Tennessee.

He was arrested on two counts of simple possession or casual exchange of a controlled drug and one count of breaking the law about registering a vehicle in the state.
Rucker was taken to the Williamson County Jail on February 1.
He was taken to the Williamson County Jail around 1 p.m. and freed an hour later on a $10,000 bond.
Mark Puryear, Rucker’s lawyer, told Fox News Digital in a statement that his client had been arrested.
“Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges,” said Puryear.
Rucker, dressed in black, smiles at the CMT Music Awards in Austin.

Rucker got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in December. The country singer who won a Grammy also put out his eighth solo record, “Carolyn’s Boy,” in 2023. In honor of his late mother, the song was made.
Rucker became successful in country music after being the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish for more than 30 years. At the time, he told Fox News Digital that he doesn’t think he’s hit the peak of his career.
“I think the thing that keeps me working so hard is I always feel like I haven’t done enough,” he stated.
Rucker also told People magazine last year that his two younger children want to be like him, even though he joked that he wanted them to be doctors or lawyers.
The singer and his ex-wife have two kids together, Daniela and Jack. Rucker also has a daughter from a past relationship named Carolyn.
He said that they still see him as a normal dad, even though he is famous and successful.
“They truly don’t give a s— what I do for a living. I’m nothing special. I’m their dad,” he told the outlet. “They love my music, and they think it’s cool, but they’ll still be at a show, and I’ll walk out of the back of my bus, and they’ll go, ‘Dad, are you going to wear that?’ They love letting me know that I’m a dork, and I love them for it.”
He talked about his breakup with his wife of 20 years, Beth Leonard, during the conversation.
“That stuff hurts, and you feel like a failure,” Rucker told People of their split. “But we’re still a family. A piece of paper is not going to change that.”
“We’re still a family, and that’s all because Beth is awesome,” he said. “She knows it’s the best for the kids, and she’s a great human being.”
Rucker pointed out that they are “not officially divorced yet.”
