Cheteshwar Pujara Singh’s early life: Cheteshwar Arvind Pujara is an Indian international cricketer born on January 25, 1988. He is now a member of the Indian national team for the Test format of the game and plays for Saurashtra in the domestic format.

He is a right-handed batsman who made his debut for Saurashtra in December 2005 and his debut for India in the Test match at Bangalore in October 2010.

Cheteshwar Pujara Debut

In 2005, pujara competed in his first Under-19 Test for India, which took place against England. He started the inning by scoring 211 runs, contributing to India’s victory by an innings and 137 runs. After collecting three fifties in as many innings during the Afro-Asia Under-19 Cup, he was selected to be a part of the Indian side competing in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2006.

At the Under-19 World Cup, he scored 349 runs throughout six innings, including three fifties and a century, for an average of 117. He was the tournament’s top run-scorer and won the title. During the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2006, he was voted the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

In the quarterfinal match against the West Indies, he scored 97 runs, and in the semifinal match against England, he scored 129 runs, contributing to India’s victory by a large margin of 234 runs. On the other hand, he was run out without scoring in the championship game against Pakistan, which India wound up losing.

In the summer of 2010, he was a member of the India A team that traveled to England. During that trip, he scored the most runs of any player on the team. In October 2011, the BCCI bestowed upon him the honor of a D-grade national contract. After the retirement of Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman, he was one of the players being considered for a spot in the Indian middle order.

He was also a member of the Chennai Super Kings team that won the Indian Premier League in 2021. He is known to have a sound technique and the temperament required to play long innings.

In August of 2012, he made his comeback in a test match against New Zealand and scored a century. He led India to victory and was named man of the match after scoring a double century, the first time against England in Ahmedabad in November 2012 and the second time against Australia in March 2013; he played for India.
