Chetan Sakariya Singh Early Life:  Chetan Sakariya is an Indian cricketer born on February 28, 1998. He is a left-arm fast bowler and plays for Saurashtra in the Indian domestic cricket circuit. Sakariya is originally from a little town in Gujarat named Vartej, located about 180 kilometers from Rajkot. Sheldon Jackson, a veteran player on the Saurashtra club, assisted him in his training and provided him with a new pair of shoes. After that, Sakariya was finally granted the opportunity to visit the MRF Pace Foundation. After that, Jackson and Sakariya became very good friends.

Chetan Sakariya Debut

On February 22, 2018, Sakariya made his debut for Saurashtra in the List A competition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2017–18 season. On November 20, 2018, he made his first-class debut for Saurashtra in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy. In his maiden innings, he took five wickets, which was a great start to his career. 

On February 21, 2019, he participated in the Twenty20 competition for the first time for Saurashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018–19. Ahead of the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League, the Rajasthan Royals spent 1.2 crores of rupees to acquire Sakariya from the Indian Premier League auction in February 2021.

Chetan Sakariya International Career

 Sakariya received a call-up to India’s One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) squads in June 2021 for their series against Sri Lanka in ODI and T20I formats, respectively. He made his ODI debut on July 23, 2021, for India against Sri Lanka. Bhanuka Rajapaksa was the player he dismissed for the first time on the international stage, and he concluded with stats of 2 for 38. On July 28, 2021, he made his first appearance for India in a Twenty20 International match against Sri Lanka.

At the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament, which took place in February 2022, he was purchased by the Delhi Capitals.

Chetan Sakariya Personal life

During the time that he was competing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, Sakariya’s brother took his own life. Sakariya was very close to his brother, and in recognition of their bond, the Rajasthan Royals presented him with a shirt with the initials “R.K,” which stood for their brother’s name before he passed away. Additionally, the jersey features a statement that reads “Miss you, bro” printed on the back of it.
