The Asian markets are a combination of all Asian stock markets. The Asian markets include Asian Financial Markets, a list of future exchanges, and a list of stock exchanges.

Introduction of Asian Market:  Asian markets are broadly higher today (Sep 2022) where Hong Kong has the largest number of shares in this region and is leading in the Asian Markets. The Hang Seng is up 2.69%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is up 1.16% and China’s Shanghai Composite is up 0.82%.

1. Shanghai Stock Exchange, China

The Shanghai Stock Exchange is ranked as the world’s 3rd largest stock market at US$7.62 trillion through market capitalization. This stock exchange is widely affected by the government of China because capital account control is in the hands of the Chinese government which is why foreign investors fear investing in it.

2. Tokyo Stock Exchange, japan

Tokyo Stock Exchange is the third largest stock exchange in the world through aggregate market capitalization and is considered the highest in Asia. This stock is on the Asia Stock Market at US $ 27,153.83.

3. Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Hong Kong

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong is a stock exchange based in Hong Kong. In 2022, it had 2,538 listed companies with a combined market capitalization of HK$47 trillion. It is considered the fastest-growing stock exchange in Asia.

4. Shenzhen Stock Exchange, China

 It is a stock exchange based in the city of Shenzhen which is in the People’s Republic of China. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange is the stock exchange that is operating independently in China.  Its stock market is at US$ 2.504 trillion market capitalization. It is the 7th largest stock in the World.

5. Bombay Stock Exchange, India

The Bombay Stock Exchange which is also known as BSE Limited is an Indian stock exchange located on Dalal Street in Mumbai. It is considered the oldest stock exchange in Asia and the tenth oldest in the world. The BSE is the 8th largest stock exchange at ₹276.713 lakh crore with an overall market capitalization in the world.

6. National Stock Exchange 

India National Stock Exchange of India Limited is also the leading stock exchange in India. This stock exchange is in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It is the world’s largest derivatives exchange in 2021 by Futures Industry Association which is a derivatives trade body. NSE is ranked 4th in the world in cash equities which is through the number of trades as per the statistics maintained by the World Federation of Exchanges.

7. Korea Exchange, South Korea

Korea Exchange is the only securities exchange operator in South Korea. It is headquartered in Busan. It has an office for cash markets and market oversight in Seoul. Their indices are Indices KOSPI, KOSDAQ, and KRX 100. 

Their stock market cap is at 2,604 trillion KRW which is USD 2.3 trillion.

8. Taiwan Stock Exchange, Taiwan

This stock exchange is a foundation, which is organized for serving the over-the-counter market and bond trading of Taiwan. The initial fund of this stock foundation was donated by the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Taiwan Securities Association, and Taiwan Depository & Clearing. Its headquarters is mainly in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei City.  The Gre Tai Securities Market changed its name to Taipei Exchange in 2015.

9. Singapore Exchange, Singapore

The Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) is a Singaporean investment that is held by a company that provides different services related to securities and derivatives trading and others. It is also a member of the World Federation of Exchanges and the Asian and Oceanian Stock Exchanges Federation. The Singapore Exchange market cap is about $733.27 billion.

10. The Stock Exchange of Thailand, Thailand

The Thai Stock Exchange of Thailand is the only stock exchange in Thailand. It was founded on 30 April 1975. These are considered the ASEAN’s 2nd largest and the world’s 23rd with a market capitalization of US$564 billion. It was the biggest IPO market in Southeast Asia in terms of accumulated pitched funds at USD 17.8 billion.

It is also the region’s most active stock exchange for 10 consecutive years with daily trading turnover normally exceeding USD 2 billion.
