Unveiling Delta SkyMiles AmEx Credit Card Perks: Delta Air Lines and American Express have made big changes to their famous SkyMiles credit cards. The annual fees have gone up and new benefits have been added.

The changes affect different levels of Delta’s co-branded American Express cards. They go into effect right away for new applicants and on May 1 for current users when their cards are renewed.

Unveiling Delta SkyMiles AmEx Credit Card Perks

1. American Express Delta SkyMiles Gold Card:

  • Old One-Year Fee: $99 (free for the first year).
  • New fee every year: $150.

Here are some new perks: a $100 Delta Stays Credit, a $200 Delta eCredit for spending $10,000 a year, and 70,000 SkyMiles as a welcome bonus for new applications.

2. Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card:

  • The old-year fee was $250.
  • New fee every year: $350.
  • New benefits include a $150 Delta Stays Credit, a $120 Rideshare Credit, a $120 Resy Credit, better use of companion certificates, the chance to get free upgrades, and a large welcome bonus of 90,000 SkyMiles for new applications.

3. Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card:

  • The old yearly fee was $550.
  • The new fee per year is $650.
  • New benefits include a $200 Delta Stays Credit, a $120 Rideshare Credit, a $240 Resy Credit, more ways to use companion certificates, more Sky Club guest passes, Hertz President’s Circle Status, and a huge welcome bonus of 100,000 SkyMiles for new applicants.

Delta’s reward program has been going through a lot of changes lately. Last fall, changes to earning status and getting into the Sky Club caused a lot of controversy. Along with the higher fees come more perks, like monthly credits for restaurants and ride-sharing services, more people being able to use companion certificates, and better access to the Sky Club for top-tier cardholders.

Even though the fee increases might be hard for some users, Delta is trying to calm people down by giving new members big welcome bonuses and extra perks. The changes show how important credit cards and relationships with American Express are for Delta, even though some loyal Delta customers don’t always agree with them. Notably, the changes show how airline loyalty programs are changing and how tricky it can be to improve card benefits while also listening to customer complaints.
