About TVS: Third largest 2-wheeler manufacturer in India and the second largest exporter of motorbikes to over 50+ countries, this company has 4 manufacturing units. Thirukkurungudi Vengaram Sundaram was the visionary behind TVS and bore his name to the company. TVS Motors is headquartered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and is the most prominent member of the TVS Group.
Sundaram Clayton (Sundaram Motors and Clayton Dewandre Holdings UK) started its first manufacturing plant in 1976 at Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Two-seater Mopeds were its first manufactured product in collaboration with Japan’s Suzuki Ltd.
TVS Racing took part in the Dakar Rally in collaboration with French automobile manufacturer Sherco as the Sherco TVS Rally Factory team. It has also won the Raid de Himalaya & the FOX Hill Super Cross races for two-wheelers.
In 2020, the company acquired the manufacturing rights of Norton Motorcycle Company, and it is now a subsidiary of TVS Motors.
Presently the company is led by CEO Radhakrishnan.
