During this event, the shiny-coated Pokemon are the most important ones (more on that below). During the New Year’s 2024 event in GO, you’ll probably want to grind for these rare monsters.
This means that you need to make room in your Pokemon Storage for new monsters. When you’re not playing the game, you should try to trade or move all the Pokemon you don’t want that are in your storage.
“Managing Storage of Items”
During this event in GO, you won’t need berries. You won’t need any Pinap Berries because there aren’t any new Pokemon. It’s easy to catch most things, so you won’t need Razz Berries either.
You can store most of your items in balls that you can use to catch monsters.

Should you play the New Year’s 2024 game in Pokemon GO?
Ribbon Jigglypuff and its shiny form will be released for the first time during this GO event. It will be a lot of fun to hunt this shiny monster if you like that kind of thing in this game.
There will also be a lot of rare monsters in the hatch pool of 7 km Eggs during this event:
- Party Hat Pichu (can be shiny)
- Elekid (can be shiny)
- Cleffa (can be shiny)
So, you might want to play during this event if you don’t already have these monsters. If you have a lot of 12 km Eggs, you can use the one-fourth Egg Hatch Distance to get rid of them.
