Terry’s November 2022 interview with Today said that he hid the fight because he didn’t want people to “pity” him. He said, “I didn’t talk about it because I didn’t want sympathy. I didn’t talk about it because when a lot of famous people say something like that—unfortunately, I’m one of them—I think millions of people in America think, ‘Aw, look at him.’”

The Pro Football Hall of Famer didn’t even talk about it on social media at the time. Instead, he used Instagram to share a picture with his friend William Shatner a few weeks after being told he had cancer. His wife, Tammy Bradshaw, didn’t tell anyone about it because she was scared of what would happen.

What Is Merkel Cell Skin Cancer?

The American Cancer Society says that Terry had to first deal with his battle with bladder cancer. This disease happens when cells in the urinary bladder start to grow out of control and form tumors. Over time, the cancer may spread from the bladder to organs and structures nearby.

The source of the news said that urothelial carcinoma, which is also called transitional cell carcinoma (TCC), is the most common type of bladder cancer.
