Tahir Raj Bhasin Family Background: To a Punjabi father and a Kashmiri-Marathi mother came Tahir Raj Bhasin. Bhasin was raised in New Delhi by an Indian Air Force father. His mother used to work for Aptech Computers and the Confederation of Indian Industry. His younger brother is a pilot in Cathay Pacific. Both his father and grandpa were Indian Air Force jet pilots.

  • Bhasin began acting at the age of 13 and began his formal acting studies at the Barry John Acting School at the age of 15. 
  • He attended Hindu College, University of Delhi, where he studied political science and held a workshop with Aamir Raza Hussain, a well-known Delhi theatre figure. 
  • He has a master’s degree in media from Australia’s University of Melbourne with specialisations in screen media and film history and philosophy. 
  • After participating in the IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo festival, he decided to become an actor.

Tahir Raj Bhasin’s Journey to the Bollywood

Tahir decided to pursue acting in 2012, participating in four short films for the Film and Television Institute of India and television ads for Samsung and Canon cameras.

While still a teenager, he worked as the host of a campus chat show for a local television station for a national news production firm.

At 23, Bhasin came to Mumbai to pursue acting and modeling. He spent a year at the Institute of Advanced Acting and Behavioural Studies, learning about body language and behavioral analytic techniques. In the summer of 2013, he attended Naseeruddin Shah’s intensive acting and voice training program.

In 2014, Tahir made his Bollywood film debut as Karan Rastogi, a Delhi-based human trafficking kingpin, in Pradeep Sarkar’s criminal thriller Mardaani, with Rani Mukerji.

He appears in Sanjay Khanduri’s comedy Kismat Love Paisa Dilli. 

Mardaani, his first film, earned him a Screen Award nomination for Best Actor in a Negative Role and a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

He also appeared in Force 2. Chhichhore, his following picture, was a huge success. In “83”, he played Sunil Gavaskar.

Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, Ranjish Hi Sahi, and Loop Lapeta were all hits for Tahir in 2022, in which he shifted to the romantic lead.
