Skoda Auto, recognized as “Skoda,” is a Czech automobile manufacturer with headquarters in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. It was founded in 1925. In 1948, Skoda was nationalized.

Skoda Company- Introduction: Throughout the Skoda company’s more than 120-year history, millions of vehicles have followed the first one that left our Mladá Boleslav facility in 1905. Although the company’s registered office and vehicle development division are still located in the company’s hometown, production has over time expanded to numerous other locations, towns, and nations.

After 1991, the German Volkswagen Group steadily privatized it; in 1994, it became a partly subsidiary, and in 2000, it became a completely owned subsidiary.

In 1859, Skoda Works was founded as a weapons producer. Along with Daimler, Opel, Peugeot, and Tatra, Skoda AUTO (and its forerunner Laurin & Klement) is the fifth-oldest automaker with uninterrupted existence.

The business that would become Skoda Auto got its start making bicycles in the early 1890s, like many other well-known automakers. Skoda (formerly Laurin & Klement) facilities were established in 1896 to produce velocipedes.

Skoda Company Global Sales

Over the past few years, Skoda has maintained strong financial stability. The brand had sales revenues of €10.3 billion in 2013. Operating profit decreased from €712 million in 2012 to €522 million as a result of the growth of the model line and the adverse economic conditions in many European nations.

In 2014 not only recorded the most client deliveries in the first quarter ever (247,200; a rise of 12.1 percent), but it also significantly increased sales revenue (23.7 percent) to about €3 billion. Over the previous year, operating profit climbed 65.2% to €185 million.

Skoda cars are sold in more than a hundred nations, and in 2018, total global sales surpassed 1.25 million units, up 4.4 percent from the year before.

In 2017, the operating profit increased by 34.6 percent to €1.6 billion, or €1.6 billion. Skoda had the second-highest profit margin among the Volkswagen AG brands as of 2017 behind Porsche.

Skoda Company – Production 

Currently, countries like the Czech Republic, China, Russia, India, and Slovakia produce Skoda vehicles. A limited number of Skoda models are also produced by local partners in Solomonovo, Ukraine, and Skemen, Kazakhstan.
