Rohan Gavaskar Early Life and Education: Rohan Gavaskar was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh (India) on 20 February 1976. Rohan Gavaskar is the son of Sunil Gavaskar who is known among legends of Indian Cricketers.

Rohan completed his education at St.Xavier’s Collegiate School, Bombay Scottish School, and Ramniranjan Anandilal Poddar College of Commerce and Economics.

Rohan Gavaskar was born in a family of Cricketers where his father as well as his uncle Gundappa Viswanath was a former Indian popular player 

He married his girlfriend Swati Menkar and they both had two children Riya Gavaskar (2005) and Vivan Gavaskar (2010).

Rohan Gavaskar Career and Popularity 

Rohan started his cricket career by playing domestic cricket representing Bengal in the Ranji and Duleep Trophy representing East Zone.

Rohan was selected for the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders in the year 2009 and served for two years. Rohan gave some appreciable knocks in IPL through which he grabbed much public attention.

Rohan Gavaskar is among the top-class players of the Kolkata Knight Riders. His bowling also impresses the team because he can also have the ability to bowl in-depth over and take wickets.

  1. He retired from first-class cricket on 9 February 2012.
  2. Rohan Gavaskar made his debut in the International cricket team of India in 2004 as a substitute for Mohammad Kaif.
  3. He played in the ICC Champions Trophy for India in the year 2004.
  4. His last ODI was against Pakistan on 19 September 2004. He announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in the year 2012.
  5. Rohan played more than 75+ matches in first-class cricket and made about 5100 runs.
  6. Rohan Gavaskar once said and also believes that his inspiration is his father Sunil Gavaskar, he learned how to play cricket from him first and the rest from coaches. He used to watch videos of his father when he didn’t understand how to play different types of balls and also when he was not going through his form. 
  7. Rohan is working as a commentator in IPL and other formats for team India in Hindi as well as in the English language.
