Personal life of Richa Chadha

The 20-minute documentary “Rooted in Hope” was written and directed by Chadha in 2006. In a May 2016 interview with NDTV, Chadda disclosed that she had battled bulimia (an eating disorder) for several years before receiving treatment from a clinical psychiatrist.

She encouraged other women to come out with their eating and mental illnesses, which were also caused by patriarchy, misogyny, and the prominence of the “male gaze” in the entertainment industry. She also advocated for the abolition of “ways of thinking” that oppressed women.

She and Ali Fazal have been dating, and they have said they would wed in October 2022. She is presently a Mumbai resident. B. R. Ambedkar is regarded as Richa Chadda’s icon.

The career of Richa Chadha

Chadda started modeling before switching to the theater. She has traveled to India and Pakistan to perform plays. She later underwent Barry John’s training as well.

In January 2016, Chadda made an appearance as a journalist in the social drama Chalk n Duster. Later, she made an appearance in the biographical drama film Sarbjit, which was based on the life of Sarabjit Singh.

She played Sukhpreet on screen alongside Aishwarya Rai and Randeep Hooda. She co-founded Pushing Buttons Studios, a movie production firm, in 2021 with Ali Fazal.

The offscreen activity of Richa Chadha

She appeared in an advertisement for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in 2014 dressed as a mermaid to promote vegetarianism and the avoidance of fish. She appeared in a play called Trivial Disasters that same year and walked the runways of Lakme Fashion Week.

Although she appeared in PETA advertisements endorsing vegetarianism, she was against the Maharashtra beef ban.
