Ramesh Deo: Family and Birth

Ramesh Deo was born in Amravati, Maharashtra, on January 30, 1929. His father was a Kohlapur judge. His family was from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, but because both his great-grandpa and grandfather were engineers, they moved to Kolhapur. They had constructed the Jodhpur Palace when Chatrapati Shahu Maharaja asked them to build Kolhapur.

His first public appearance was a cameo in the 1951 Marathi movie Patlachi Por. Aarti, his first Hindi film, was released in 1962.

Deo was married to Seema Deo, a former Nalini Saraf actor. His sons include Delhi Belly director Abhinay Deo and Marathi actor Ajinkya Deo. At the age of 96, he passed away from a heart attack at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
