NEET-PG 2024: Exam likely in July – No National Exit Test This Year

According to the National Medical Commission Act of 2019, the NEET-PG is the only entrance exam for many MD/MS and PG Diploma programs.

NEET-PG 2024: Sources say that the National Eligibility-cum-Entry Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 test will happen in the first week of July, and then counseling will happen in the first week of August. They also said that this year there will be no National Exit Test (NExT).

Also, they said that this year’s National Exit Test (NExT) would not happen.

The “Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023” replaced the “Postgraduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations, 2018. These new rules say that the current NEET-PG test will still be used for PG admissions until the planned NExT becomes operational.

According to the National Medical Commission Act of 2019, the NEET-PG is the only entrance exam for many MD/MS and PG Diploma programs. It is an eligibility-cum-ranking test.

India has put on hold the National Exit Test (NExT), which was supposed to make it easier to get medical licenses and get into medical school. NExT was meant to take the place of both NEET-PG for graduate students and FMGE for foreign medical graduates who want to work as a doctor. It is a two-part test that measures both academic knowledge and real skills. It was supposed to have benefits like making tests more consistent and improving real skills, but its introduction has been pushed back. NEET-PG is still India’s only way to get into postgraduate medical school.
