Missing Pregnant Teen and Boyfriend Found Dead in Car: Sadly, the search for Savanah Nicole Soto and Matthew Guerra is over, but the crime is still being looked into.
According to the San Antonio Express News, the pregnant 18-year-old and her 22-year-old boyfriend were found dead in their car on December 26. This was four days after Soto’s family last saw her living. Police say they were both shot and that the unborn child also died.
Sources told CBS News that Soto, who was already a week past her due date, had not shown up to the hospital on December 23 as planned to start labor.

Police Chief William McManus told reporters Tuesday, “What we’re looking at right now is a very, very perplexing crime scene.” “This is being looked at by police as a possible murder right now, but we’re not sure.” We can’t say for sure what we have because the crime scene is so broken up.
Authorities weren’t sure who the dead person was yet because they were waiting for the medical examiner’s report, but McManus said they thought they had found the missing couple.
McManus said that the police thought Soto and McManus had been dead for three or four days because the car they were found in had been parked at an apartment complex in northwest San Antonio for several days. He said that someone who “came across the vehicle” told Soto’s family about what happened, and they called the cops.
McManus also wouldn’t say what made the scene “complex” when asked.

Gloria Cordova, Soto’s mother, told CBS News that the last time she saw her daughter living was in the afternoon of December 22. Officers said that later that day, they went to Soto’s apartment to check on him but couldn’t get in. They didn’t see any signs of forced entry or other trouble, so they left.
On Christmas Day, Leon Valley PD put out a CLEAR Alert for Soto. This is similar to an Amber Alert for people who are missing or have been taken in Texas.
“Ms. Soto, who is pregnant and has passed her delivery date, has caused significant concern among her family members after missing an essential medical appointment,” the alert stated. Also, it said she could be in a dark 2013 Kia Optima with temporary tags from Texas.
McManus says that Soto and Guerra were found in the aforementioned Kia.
On Saturday afternoon, Gloria tried calling her daughter but couldn’t reach her. So, she went to her apartment. “I went by there and knocked and knocked and knocked, but she wasn’t answering,” Gloria told CBS station KENS while the search was still going on. Since she couldn’t reach Guerrra either, she told the Leon Valley cops that she was missing.
“My daughter is gone.” “She wasn’t there when she was supposed to be at 6:30 p.m.” Glorida wrote on Facebook Dec. 23. “Please let me know if you see her and where you saw her if you do.” I’m afraid for her safety because she’s with a bad man. Say a prayer for my daughter.”
KENS says Guerra’s family told San Antonio police that he was missing, and those officers then sent the case to Leon Valley police.
“She was a good girl, she didn’t deserve to go this way, especially with her baby,” Rachel Soto, Soto’s grandma, told KENS on Tuesday night after the bodies were found. “He was an innocent child, nobody deserved this.”
