Mehmood was an Indian actor, singer, producer, and director who worked in the Hindi cinematic industry. He was popular due to his hard work in his comic roles in Hindi Films.

Mehmood Early Life and Marriage: Mehmood was born in Bombay ( Mumbai ) India on the 29th of September.  He was born to a family full of artists and actors. Mehmood married Madhu who was a popular actor in the Golden Era time in 1950. Madhu gave birth to a son which they called Masood.

Mehmood Career and Popularity 

Mehmood became popular in Bollywood in 1970 when he collaborated with other celebrities who played funny roles in movies and shows. Jagdeep , Paintal , Deven Verma , Kader Khan and Asrani were mehmood favorite friends .

Mehmood acted in a popular movie directed by Rajkumar Santoshi in 1994. Mehmood died during the illness he was suffering which was cardiovascular heart disease on 23 July 2004 in Dunmore ( USA).

Some of the favorite movies through which Mehmood became popular were Kismet (1943), Naadan ( 1951), Baarish (1957), Qaidi No 911 ( 1959), Manzil ( 1960 ), Pyaar Kiye Jaa ( 1966 ), Biwi Aur Makan (1966), Pathar Ke Sanam ( 1967), Padosan (1968), Meri Bhabhi ( 1969) and many more movies.

Even though he got special appearances in some movies, his performance attracted and recognized people’s attention only through those little screen appearances. 

Mehmood won Filmfare Award ( 1967) , Filmfare Supporting Award ( 1963) and  Filmfare Best Comedian Award ( 1970) .

He had a great sense of humor and acting skills especially he knew how to grab the attention of people on screen as a role of a funny character. 

Mehmood was one of the most dominating and diligent actors who knew how to bring smiles to people even through your less screen timing.

In 2013 Indian Government in honour of Mehmood released stamps on which pictures of Mehmood with his different character roles and poses are drawn.

Mehmood died but he is still alive in his songs and movies – meaning people still listen to his songs and watch his movies with full enjoyment and interest. He was a true gem of the Bollywood industry during the 1980s.
