  • In Jodhpur, Rajasthan, Karun was born on December 6th, 1991.
  • His parents, Prema and Kaladharan Nair are from Chengannur in Kerala’s Alappuzha district.
  • After his son was born while he was stationed in Jodhpur, mechanical engineer Kaladharan moved his family to Koramangala in Bangalore, where he also worked on the sprinkler system of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
  • At Bangalore’s Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Prema Nair teaches. Shruthi Nair, Karun’s older sister, is a woman. 

Karun Nair Career 

During the 2013–14 Ranji Trophy-winning campaign for Karnataka, Nair made his first-class debut. In their last league game as well as the first two knockout games, he scored three consecutive hundreds. In the 2014–15 season, he struggled with a series of poor performances, but he recovered to smash 328 runs in the championship game, which helped Karnataka win the championship once more.

He also achieved a triple century, becoming just the second Karnataka player to do so, and the first batter to do so in a Ranji final since 1946–1947.

  • After playing his first ODI, Karun visited a shrine in Kerala in July 2016 and was on a boat when it was involved in an accident on the river Pampa.
  • On June 29, 2019, he made the news public via his social media accounts about his engagement to longtime girlfriend and media professional Sanaya Tankariwala.
  • On January 19, 2020, the pair exchanged vows in Udaipur, Rajasthan, during a private ceremony.In January 2022, Kayaan Nair, their son, was born. 

Karun Nair – An international career

Nair made his One Day International (ODI) debut in the series at Harare Sports Club on June 11, 2016. He was selected for the Indian ODI and T20I teams for their series against Zimbabwe in May 2016

  • His first Test match was against England on November 26, 2016, in Mohali.
  • At the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, he made his first Test century in the series’ final game, going on to complete 303 not out.
  • He became the fastest batsman to hit a first triple-hundred in Test cricket history in terms of games played when he did so when he had only played three innings of international cricket at the time.
