This version was a beta format open to use by the company’s employees and partners. And only after September 5th, 2016 did it become available for public use across the nation.

Jio Network

In 2015, the Jio network had around 250,000-kilometer fiber cables running across the nation. Jio also teamed up with other small and local telecom service providers and merged with them to lay out its network in more secluded and distant regions while trying to grab more customers and provide them with safe and easily accessible telephone and internet facilities.

As of today, Jio is the largest and most used/preferred mobile network service provider or operator in India. It managed to become so within a short period and currently is the third largest mobile network service worldwide. The subscribers of Jio at the moment are around 42.62 crores, or 246.2 million.

The Jio network operates on a national LTE network while covering all 22 telecom circles. It is currently offering only 4G and 4G+ services, with the promise to provide smooth and much-awaited 5G and 6G facilities soon enough.

As a part of its 4G service, in May 2016, Jio launched numerous apps that any user can download from Google Play using a Jio SIM card. Here are the most notable Jio apps in the market:

But a year later, in August 2019, things took a different turn, and the Jio Foundation launched a home service fiber called the Jio Fiber. And so, on 5th September 2019, the fiber officially launched as JioFiber to commemorate the company’s third anniversary. It offers its subscribers television, telephone, and home broadband services.

Registered in Ambawadi, Ahmedabad (in Gujarat), the name Jio has traveled and seen plenty of changes from its birth in 2007 February to its launch in 2017 and until the present. With plenty of Jio apps, Jio TV subscriptions, and Jio network services, it has managed to become India’s most popular and largest broadband and telecom service provider in a short time.
