IIT-Roorkee Achieves Remarkable Placement Success: 802 Offers Extended in a Span of 15 Days!

The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-R), reported a robust start to the final placements for the Class of 2024, securing 802 offers from 172 companies within the initial 15 days. The offers encompassed pre-placement offers, reflecting a positive trend in recruitment activities. Notable companies participating in the placements included Accenture Japan, American Express, Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm India, and Reliance Industries, among others.IIT-R disclosed receiving 23international offers during this phase, with expectations of more in the subsequent rounds.

The institute’s statement also mentioned the involvement of diverse companies like Apport Technologies, Dolat Capital Market, Quintics Management Consultancies, and Samsung R&D Noida in the placements drive. Earlier in the process, Databricks, a US software company, reportedly offered approximately Rs 2.05 crore for an international role, though the composition of the compensation, largely in restricted stock units, was not commented upon by the institute.

Despite prevailing challenges in the hiring landscape, including a tech hiring slowdown and a cautious hiring sentiment, IIT-R’s performance in placements signals optimism. Last year, the institute had received 1,062 offers by the end of the first phase, including 14 international offers from various countries.

As the placements continue, IIT-R remains optimistic about the ongoing recruitment season. The institute official stated that the first phase of placements is yet to conclude, suggesting the potential for further achievements in securing opportunities for the graduating class. The strong start to placements underscores the demand for talent from premier engineering institutions, highlighting IIT-R’s standing as a preferred choice for recruiters.
