Incorporated in 1987, HFCL (previously known as Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited) is a telecom firm based in India. It has been operating in a variety of manufacturing, R&D, and turnkey solutions industries.

HFCL History

HFCL-History: One of the first private sector telecom businesses in India, Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited was created in 1987 by Mahendra Nahata, Dr.Deepak Malhotra, and Vinay Maloo. The business was established in the Himachal Pradesh state as a public limited company in May 1987.

It will also offer turnkey solutions to organisations run by the Indian government as well as businesses around the world. Since its founding, the company has ventured into numerous telecoms hardware integration streams. The $25 billion (850 billion) bid made by the business for the basic services licence in India in 1995 was what gave the telecom industry in that nation its mega boost.

Businessman Kerry Packer, an Australian recognized for his contributions to cricket, bought a 10% share in the company in 2000. Two joint venture companies were established by CPH and HFCL, one for B2B e-commerce and the other for software goods and services.

With offices in Delhi and Gurgaon, HFCL offers services all over India. It has offices all over the nation as well as production facilities in Goa, Chennai, and Solan in Himachal Pradesh. Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Kerala, Jharkhand, and Uttarakhand are among the Indian states where the company has regional offices. 

Advance Systems Moneta Finance Ltd. and HTL Limited are subsidiaries of HFCL., HFCL Ltd. DragonWave, Microwave Communications, and Security Systems from Polixel.

HFCL – Strengths:

1. HFCL has a strong existing manufacturing base for telecom products in units located at Solan, Gurgaon, Goa, and Chennai. The Solan plant is equipped with a large state-of-the-art fully automated SMT unit and modern testing facilities. It has earlier manufactured equipment similar to BMS requirements such as radios, optical and multiplexing equipment involving niche technology. 

2. It has adequate experience in the indigenous manufacture of telecom equipment in India through ToT from reputed OEMs abroad and Indian R & D organizations /institutions.

HFCL- Products Manufactured:

Through the transfer of technology, the following equipment has been produced by the company in India: a. digital electromagnetic scanners; b. SDH broadcast; c. DECT-based WLL equipment; d. CDMA-based WLL regulatory regime; and e. CDMA subscriber endpoints. SDH optical transmission systems, optical line terminal systems (Optimux), and DWDM.
