The $25 billion (850 billion) bid made by the business for the basic services licence in India in 1995 was what gave the telecom industry in that nation its mega boost.

Businessman Kerry Packer, an Australian recognized for his contributions to cricket, bought a 10% share in the company in 2000. Two joint venture companies were established by CPH and HFCL, one for B2B e-commerce and the other for software goods and services.
