The career of Hemant Soren
Soren started his political career in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, a regional party in Jharkhand. He was elected as the president of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee in 2001. He was then elected to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly as a candidate for the Jharkhand National Congress in 2004.
In 2008, he was appointed the Minister of State for Rural Development in the Jharkhand government. He was elected to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly as a candidate for the Jharkhand National Congress in 2013. He was then appointed the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on 14 June 2017.
Hemant Soren is the Jharkhand’s Chief Minister, serving since November 5, 2017. Previously, he was the Minister of Revenue and Agriculture from December 14, 2013, to November 5, 2017.
A member of the Jharkhand Janata Dal (United), he has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Jharkhand since 1995.
He was elected to the post in a March 2018 election. Soren is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the main political party in India.
Achievements of Hemant Soren
