Govinda Ahuja Biography

Govinda Introduction: Govinda Ahuja was born on 21 December 1963. Govinda is an Indian film artist, actor, and former politician. Govinda is known for his excellent performances in Bollywood films. Govinda has won many awards and accolades including the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian and four Zee Cine Awards. Govinda used to be a part of the Indian Parliament from 2004 to 2009. 

Govinda has appeared in more than 165 Bollywood films. In a BBC News Online poll in June 1999, Govinda was ranked as the tenth most notable star.

Govinda Family 

Govinda’s Parents were former actor Arun Kumar Ahuja and actress Nirmala Devi. He is married to Sunita Ahuja. Govinda has 2 children. They are Yashwardhan Ahuja and daughter Tina Ahuja. His Brother’s name is Kirti Kumar. 

Govinda Education 

Govinda received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Vartak College, Vasai.

Govinda Career 

  • In the mid-eighties, Govinda acted in various film categories such as family, drama, and sentimental films. Govinda started as a thriller legend during the 1980s and reinvented himself as a parodic saint during the 1990s. His previous hit films include Jaan Se Pyaara (1992), Khuddar (1994), and Andolan (1995).
  • In 1992, Govinda Ahuja was seen later as a comedian after playing the role of an inexperienced young NCC cadet in the sentimental film Shola Aur Shabnam. Govinda had various leadership roles in several industrially effective parody films including first Aankhen (1993), then Raja Babu (1994), later Deewana Mastana (1997), then Coolie No. 1 (1995), Hero No. 1 (1997), then in1998 Dulhe Raja, then Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) and later Jodi No. 1 (2001).
  • Govinda, as an individual from the Indian National Congress, was selected as the 7th individual from the Parliament for the public vote in Mumbai, northern Maharashtra, India in the 14th Lok Sabha race, beating Ram Naik of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
  • Haseena Maan Jayegi won Govinda the Filmfare Best Comedian Award. Govinda received the Filmfare Special Award for Outstanding Performance in a Saajan Chale Sasural. In 2000, Govinda played six different roles in the show Hadh Kar Di Aapne. They were Raju and his mother, father, sister, grandmother, and grandfather.
  • Meanwhile, after various setbacks in the film industry during the 2000s, Govinda‘s later commercial triumphs included Bhagam Bhag (2006), Partner (2007), and Life Partner (2009). Govinda became a judge on Zee TV’s Dancing Challenge, Dance India Dance Super Mom Season 2. The show garnered the most notable TRPs of all the opening episodes of an unscripted TV drama.
