Gajraj Rao Introduction: Gajraj Rao debuted in 1994 with a small role in Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen and has since appeared in several films and web series.  Rao is known for his leading roles in Badhaai Ho and supporting roles in films like Talwar, and Blackmail, and web series like TVF’s F.A.T.H.E.R.S.  And technical conversations with Dad.  

Gajraj Rao Family 

Rao’s wife/spouse’s name is Sanjana Rao. He has two sons.  One of them is a graphic designer student. Gajraj Rao was born in a lower-middle-class family in Rajasthan and brought up in Delhi.

His father worked in the Indian Railways in Delhi.  He lived with his parents in Delhi.  

At the age of 16, he joined a theater group. He participated in the famous theater group, ‘Act One’ along with film actors, Manoj Bajpayee and Ashish Vidyarthi.

Gajraj Rao Career 

When he was a student at Delhi University, a friend introduced him to the theatre.  He saw Sandhya Chhaya at Shri Ram Center for Performing Arts, Mandi House.  The lights, the music everything affected him.

Afterward, he continued his theater work and did odd jobs as well.

• Thereafter, Gajraj Rao Joji started working in a tailor shop ‘Iqbal Tailors’ in Delhi.  After this, he worked in a friend’s garment company.

• His interest in literature helped him to get a job as a freelance writer in Navbharat and Hindustan Times.
• He later got an offer to write screenplays for Doordarshan anchors.
• Indian television producer, Siddharth Basu noticed her work and offered her a show based on audience interactions.
• The turning point in his life came when he met Bollywood director and writer Pradeep Sarkar.  Pradeep offered her to write scripts for his ad films.  Gajraj approved it and started working with him for some years.
• Gajraj Rao Joji was introduced to famous director Shekhar Kapur by his friend Tigmanshu Dhulia.  Shekhar offered her the role of Ashok Chand Thakur in the Bollywood film Bandit Queen (1994).

• In 2003, Gajraj, along with his friend Subrata Ray, opened an advertising commercial production house, ‘Code Red Film’.  Gajraj Rao has acted and directed many popular Gajraj Rao advertisement films.
• Some of the famous Gajraj Rao advertisement movies made under his production house are Maruti Suzuki, Cadbury, Reliance Foundation, Samsung, HUL, McDonald’s, Flipkart, Taza Chai, Procter & Gamble, and many more.
