Experience ChatGPT without an Account: OpenAI’s ChatGPT generative AI chatbot will now be available without registration for free, the Microsoft-backed startup announced. With ChatGPT, you can create summaries, write poems, and even come up with theme party ideas by mimicking human conversation. To make AI accessible to everyone, OpenAI said it would gradually roll out the feature.

As per data analytics firm Similarweb, ChatGPT has seen its growth slow down since May 2023, when it set a record for the fastest-growing user base.

A new content safeguard has been added to ChatGPT for users who do not want to sign up. These will include blocking prompts and generations in a broader range of categories- which OpenAI has not specified. Additionally, OpenAI offers paid versions of ChatGPT for individuals, teams, and businesses. Furthermore, the company announced that it could improve its large-language models by using user content. The feature can, however, be turned off by users.

Elon Musk’s lawsuit is the reason for the move?

About a month ago, Elon Musk sued OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, claiming that the startup abandoned its original mission to develop artificial intelligence for humanity’s benefit.

In any case, it seems unlikely that Elon Musk’s lawsuit played any role in OpenAI’s decision since other products of the company, such as the recently announced voice cloning service Voice Engine and the video creation platform Sora, remain restricted to a small number of users.
