About Cafe Coffee Day: The journey of Cafe Coffee Day started at Chikmagalur, Karnataka, where luscious coffee beans are grown in estates spanning over 20000 acres. So Cafe Coffee Day sources its coffee beans from its coffee estates. This chain of coffee estates is the biggest producer of Arabica coffee beans in the world and exports them to Japan, Europe, and the US.
From a coffee-growing estate to a coffee-brewing enterprise, Cafe Coffee Day was the brainchild of the late V.G. Siddhartha. The pilot CCD outlet was started at Brigade Road, Bengaluru, in 1996. Soon the outlet became a popular hangout and favorite pastime for the young souls in the locality. This kicked off the CCD journey. In 2010, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts announced a major investment of $ 10 Billion in Coffee Day Resorts possessed by the company, which helped CCD revamp its business.

Coffee Day Enterprises was founded by V.G.Siddharth.In 1993, he purchased a coffee curing unit in Hassan and was the first entrepreneur in India to start a cafe. Today this cafe has grown to become a chain of popular coffee hangout spots.
After the demise of VG Siddhartha in 2019, his wife Malavika Hegde was appointed CEO of Coffee Day Enterprises. Ranganath is the present Chairman of the board.
