Yahoo New Search Experience: A Sneak Peek into the Enhanced Search Experience Coming in 2024

Recently, Brain Provost, General Manager and the Senior VP of Yahoo claimed that it is soon going to introduce a new search experience for Yahoo by 2024, which will give a boost to its user experience.

The leaks about it were spread at the Search Marketing Expo in a questionnaire with Danny Goodwin, managing editor at Search Engine Land & SMX. They both talked about the release date and many other interrelated topics. You can view their recording session at SMX.

Brain said at the SMX questionnaire “We are expecting more basic features, maybe a reskin and redesign to come out from Yahoo’s search team in the early weeks of 2024, maybe as soon as a couple of months from now. You might be wondering why Yahoo is taking such a step. As you know, Yahoo is not able to compete with its competitors properly, such as Google, Bing, etc., and only has a 1.24% market share, whereas Google has a 96.17% market share.

You can say that Yahoo is making a comeback to expand its market share; thus, such an update might not keep its competitors quiet. Even a few days ago, Danny Sullivan, the liaison for Google, said in BrightonSEO that big changes are soon going to come in Google search rankings.

Thus, we can say that all these updates will shake up SEO and search ranking drastically.

Yahoo New Search Experience: Yahoo Efforts Can Be A Game Changer

Yahoo started showing its efforts at the start of this year by posting a job listing for a Product Manager for Search.

Even Sr. Director of Product Management at Yahoo, Karen Chin, wrote on LinkedIn:

“Looking to drive meaningful and innovative experiences for millions of users? We are looking for a seasoned search product manager to take the search into the next phase! Share and join us.”

Also, ever since Yahoo Search was turned back on, the company has been posting sneak peeks on its Twitter account.

I’m looking forward to seeing what fresh concepts, ideas, and interfaces the team adds to Yahoo Search.
