UP Govt Launches Major Rejuvenation of Ganga-Yamuna Ghats: During the Maha Kumbh, which is a very important pilgrimage for the Hindus, thousands of devotees visit the ghats and take a holy bath in Ganga and Yamuna waters.

Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken an important measure to repair and renovate all the ghats Prayagraj to make them into lively and well-built places, reminiscent of the famous ghats in Kashi.

According to official reports, several ghats near the Ganga and Yamuna rivers are already under renovation, and more than 50% of the work is already completed.

The report states that the renovation of the ghats will be completed before the Maha Kumbh so that the famous ghats can be ready to welcome a huge number of devotees during the festival.

During the Maha Kumbh, which is a very important pilgrimage for the Hindus, thousands of devotees visit the ghats and take a holy bath in Ganga and Yamuna waters.

The renovation projects of these ghats are being managed by Rohit Kumar Rana and the efforts are led by the Construction and Design Division of Jal Nigam.

As per the official report, the amount invested to repair these ghats is Rs 11.01 crore and the project is moving smoothly. After the floodwater drops then the renovation rate will be increased.

The seven ghats that are under renovation are Alua Ghat, Kalighat, Rasulabad Ghat, Chhatnag Ghat Jhunsi, Nageshwar Ghat, Jhunsi, Maujgiri Ghat, and Purana Arail Ghat.

The official further reported that renovation progress is different in each area. Some areas’ ghats are most likely to be finished soon, while the others have only 35% of the work done.

Only 40% of the work is done in Maujgiri Ghat, 35% of the work in each of Nageshwar Ghat, Rasulabad Ghat, and Balua Ghat, 30% of Chhatnag Ghat, 40% of Purana Arail Ghat, and 50% of Kalighat ghats renovation work have been finished till now.

The renovation project includes improving the ghats to make a better place for visitors. The Kumbh Mela administration focuses on providing absolute satisfaction to the millions of pilgrims and tourists who will visit the places during the Maha Kumbh.

This renovation also includes new seats, covers, high masts, drinking water facilities, RO systems for clean water, mobile toilets, and changing rooms.
