The Mystery of Bengaluru’s Pink Blossoms: That wonderful time of the year is back in Bengaluru! No, it has nothing to do with getting rid of the terrible traffic in the city, though people who live there would really like that. But now that it’s mid-January, Bengaluru is once again a beautiful shade of pink.

Imagine driving down a road lined with pink trees that are in bloom. Or, picture taking a walk in a park where the trees are covered with lots of pretty pink flowers. That’s how Bengaluru looks right now.

From December to March, Bengaluru gets a change that looks like it came from Pinterest. A lot of people think these are cherry blossoms, but they’re not. Trees called Tabebuia avellanedae and Tabebuia rosea give the city its pretty pink scenery.

How did Bengaluru get its pink flowers?

They are from South America and were brought to the city by British colonists. They are also known as pink trumpet trees. They brought the bright pink trumpet trees to Bengaluru because they liked foreign plants that could be used as decorations.

“The horticulturists who were hired to improve Bengaluru’s green cover planted these trees here.” “The flowers were able to bloom because of the work of Bengaluru’s past rulers, including the British,” said garden and plant expert Kavya Chandra.

The way it looked might not have been the only thing that mattered. Another reason these trees were probably picked was to bring back some of the springtime they left behind.
