Circle to shift its global headquarters: The issuer of USDC and EURC, ‘Circle’ is all set to move its global world headquarters to New York City before the launch of its  Initial Public Offering (IPO).

Circle, the stablecoin issuer is relocating to “one of the top floors of 1 World Trade Center” for the breathtaking view.

Jeremy Allair, the CEO of the financial technology firm in a tweet on September 13 announced this decision. Jeremy Allaire’s tweet reads, “@circle has announced that we are moving our Global HQ to New York City, building out a flagship space on one of the top floors of 1 World Trade Center, a historically important landmark in standing for American global economic leadership.”

The stablecoin issuer ‘Circle’ plays a crucial role between for people to switch between the legacy money and the new cryptocurrency economy.

The company plans to shift its headquarters to New York in early 2025.

In January 2024, Circle announced its plans to go public, the company is currently waiting for approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch its IPO.

It has been 11 years since its foundation, it’s a huge achievement for the stablecoin issuer to move into the “heart of Wall Street”. The reason behind such a measure is to boost the development of an open internet and expand the efficiency of the US dollar.

The move comes after the growth in the adoption rate of cryptocurrencies such as  Bitcoin (BTCUSD) and Ether (ETHUSD) exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that were introduced in the US became the major cryptocurrencies today.

The co-founder of the company, Jeremy Allair said, “2024 has been a turning point year in crypto, a year when stablecoins started to truly break out in scale, importance, and usage. 2025 will be the year when this goes mainstream.”

He added that despite people saying that the US is not friendly to digital assets, he expects that it will soon become the global leader.

He further added, “My view is that we are at a turning point and that the US is about to become THE decisive leader in building and supporting this technology and financial revolution.”
