The CBSE Class 12 History (Theory) exam comprises 80 marks, and candidates are allotted a total of 3 hours, with an additional 15 minutes for reading the question paper. History is a subject that holds significant weightage for students in the Humanities stream. General Instructions
- The question paper is divided into five sections, namely A, B, C, D, and E, comprising a total of 34 compulsory questions.
- In Section A, Questions 1 to 21 consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with each question carrying a weight of 1 mark.
- Section B encompasses Questions 22 to 27, categorized as Short Answer Type Questions, and each question holds a value of 3 marks. Responses for these questions should be limited to 60-80 words.
- Questions 28 to 30 in Section C are designated as Long Answer Type Questions, each carrying a weightage of 8 marks. Responses to these questions should be restricted to 300-350 words.
- Section D comprises Questions 31 to 33, characterized as Source-based questions with three sub-questions, and each question carries 4 marks.
- Section E features Question 34, a Map-based question worth 5 marks, which involves the identification and location of significant test items. The map should be attached to the answer book.
- While there is no overall choice in the question paper, internal choices are provided in certain questions. For these questions, candidates are required to attempt only one of the choices.
