OnePlus-Introduction: Chinese consumer electronics firm OnePlus Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. has its headquarters in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, in the Tairan Building at the Chegong Temple subdistrict of Futian District. Pete Lau and Carl Pei founded it in December 2013, and Oppo, one of the BBK Electronics subsidiaries that also includes Vivo, Realme, and iQOO, currently owns the majority of the company.
As of July 2018, the organisation, which is primarily known for producing cell phones, officially provided services to 34 nations and areas worldwide.

- On April 23, 2014, the business announced the OnePlus One, its first product, to challenge the Google Nexus line for market share. OnePlus announced plans to establish a presence in India in December 2014 along with the launch of the OnePlus One there exclusively through Amazon. The company also announced plans to open 25 official walk-in service centers across India.
- Han Han was hired by OnePlus in April 2014 to assist with product marketing in mainland China. The business began operating in the European Union on March 9, 2014.

- On December 16, 2014, the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court of India banned the import and sale of OnePlus One phones in response to a case filed by Micromax claiming exclusivity rights to sell phones running Cyanogen OS in India. The embargo was removed on December 21, 2014. The device is still equipped with Cyanogen OS, but OxygenOS, OnePlus’s specially created version of Android, has now been made available and enables the sale of later OnePlus devices in India.
- Through OPlus, OnePlus and Oppo combined their hardware research teams in 2021.
- In July 2021, OnePlus combined OxygenOS and Oppo’s ColorOS. The two companies’ software remained distinct and continued to cater to their respective markets (OxygenOS for OnePlus phones globally and ColorOS for OnePlus and Oppo devices in China), but they now share a common codebase, which, according to OnePlus, should standardise its software experience and speed up the development of future OxygenOS updates.
