Karva Chauth fast
The Hindu calendar states that the Karva Chauth fast is held annually on the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik. Kartik Sankashti Chaturthi occurs on that day, which is called Vakratunda Sankashti Chaturthi. On the day of Karva Chauth, married women and marriageable girls observe Nirjala fast for the long life of their spouse and happy married life. In this fast it is necessary to worship the Moon and offer Arghya.
According to the Vedic calendar, this time the Chaturthi date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month is starting from 9:30 pm on Tuesday, October 31. This date will end on Wednesday, November 1 at 9:19 pm. Karva Chauth fast will be observed on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, on the basis of Udayatithi and moonrise of Chaturthi.
Diwali festival
Diwali is usually celebrated for five days. During this period the festivals of Dhanteras, Roop Chaturdashi, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj are celebrated. This time Diwali will be celebrated on Sunday, November 12. At the same time, Amavasya Tithi will remain till 2:57 pm the next day. For this reason, Somvati Amavasya will not be celebrated on this day, but Govardhan Puja. In this way the festival of Diwali will be celebrated for six days.
On the day of Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped with devotion and dedication. It is believed that on this day the goddess of wealth comes to earth and bestows happiness and prosperity on her devotees.
Chhath festival
The great festival of Chhath starts from the Chaturthi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. Bathing is done on this day. Offering Kharna on Panchami, Arghya to the setting sun on Shashthi, and water to the rising sun on Saptami marks the end of the fast.
Suryadev and Chhathi Maiya are worshipped on this day. Chhath Puja will take place this year on November 17 and run through November 20, 2023. Children who fast during Chhath Puja and worship Chhathi Maiya and the Sun God, never face troubles.
