History Justdial

Mani established Justdial in 1996 with a seed capital of Rs. 50,000, five employees, a few rented computers, and borrowed furnishings after searching for funding for his concept for several years. A mobile app and online database named Justdial.com was introduced in 2007.

Justdial went public on May 20, 2013, at a price ranging from INR 897 to 898. Out of the original 17.5 million shares, 13.5 million were made available to the general public, and the remaining shares—priced at INR 530 per share were distributed to fifteen prior investors.

Growth Justdial

Justdial had pledged to purchase back shares from retail investors at the IPO price if the company’s share price dropped significantly within the first six months to attract retail investment. The majority of fresh investments had come from overseas institutional investors by the time the market closed on the day of the IPO.
