Introduction: Mumbai, India is home to the consumer products company Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). It is a branch of the British corporation Unilever. Its selection includes foods, beverages, household goods, toiletries, water purifiers, and other items that are frequently utilised.

Hindustan Vanaspati Manufacturing Company was created in 1931; in 1956, it merged with other constituent organisations to become Hindustan Unilever Limited. 

In Mumbai, the Hindustan Unilever Research Centre (HURC) and Bangalore’s Unilever Research India were founded in 1966 and 1997, respectively. The company’s research facilities were consolidated into a single Bangalore location in 2006.

On November 15, 2010, Unilever simultaneously unveiled its Sustainable Living Plan in London, Rotterdam, New York, and New Delhi.

For its safety and health initiatives and ongoing improvement on key KPIs, Hindustan Unilever Limited won the Golden Peacock Occupational Health and Safety Award for 2012 in the FMCG category in July 2012.

In the list of Fortune India’s Most Admired Companies, which was published by Fortune India in collaboration with the Hay Group, Hindustan Unilever was rated No. 2. The business achieved top marks for resilience and financial stability.

Headquarters

The corporate headquarters of Hindustan Unilever are in Mumbai’s Andheri neighbourhood. 12.5 acres of land make up the campus, which is home to 1,600 workers. A convenience shop, a food court, an occupational health centre, a gym, a sports & entertainment centre, and a daycare facility are a few of the amenities accessible to the staff. Kapadia Associates, a Mumbai-based architectural firm, created the Campus.

In the “New Construction” category, the campus was given a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold accreditation by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), Hyderabad, which operates under a permit from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC)

The company’s previous headquarters were housed at the Lever House in Mumbai’s Backbay Reclamation for more than 46 years.

With a presence in more than 20 consumer product categories, including soaps, tea, detergents, and shampoos among others, Hindustan Unilever Limited is the market leader in Indian consumer goods. More than 700 million Indians use its products. In the 2014 ACNielsen Brand Equity list of the 100 Most Trusted Brands Annual Survey, published by Brand Equity, a supplement of The Economic Times, sixteen of HUL‘s brands were mentioned.
