Ravinder Kapoor (15 December 1940 – 3 March 2011), better known as Goga Kapoor, was an Indian actor who appeared mostly in Bollywood films.

Goga Kapoor Introduction: He has acted in over 120 films, mainly known for playing supporting roles of villains’ henchmen or gangsters.  He is also remembered for playing the role of Kansa in the popular TV serial Mahabharat, Ravana in the TV serial Jai Veer Hanuman, and the dacoit Shaitan Singh in the film Toofan, Dinkar Rao in the 1990 film Agneepath and the don in the film Kabhi Ya Kabhie. His other unique works include films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Run.

Goga Kapoor Early stage

His real name was Ravinder Kapoor.  He was born in Gujranwala, Punjab, which is now in Pakistan.  He belonged to a wealthy family, but after the partition, he migrated to India and lost all his wealth.

He was separated from his father during the Partition of India in 1947, but his mother firmly believed that one day she would find her husband.  In a very filmy way, she met him after a few years, at a coffee shop.

Goga Kapoor Acting Career 

Goga Kapoor is a famous Bollywood actor.

  • Goga Kapoor began his career in theatres; in English drama.  Soon, his acting skills were recognized, and he was offered a small role in the film ‘Jwala’ (1971).
  • He played a villain in the film ‘Ek Kunwari Ek Kunwara’ (1973), and this was the beginning of his negative characters in films.  After this, he got many offers for the role of villain and soon he became one of the most famous villains in Bollywood. 
  • He has also acted in a successful epic serial Mahabharata.  
  • His roles in movies- Toofan, Agneepath, and Kabhi Ya Kabhi Na are some of the most memorable.
  • He worked with Amitabh Bachchan in almost all his films.  His ‘Hero-Villain Jodi’ became very popular during that period.  
  • Goga Kapoor was very popular for his unique dialogue delivery in films.
  • He also played the role of ‘Kans’ in the epic TV series Mahabharat (1988)’ and it is said that no one else can do that role with such conviction.
  • He was one of the most active committee members of the ‘Cine Artists Association.
  • Due to prolonged illness, he left the world on 3 March 2011 in Mumbai.
  • His last film was the Darwaza Band Rakho.

Goga Kapoor Death

Ravinder Kapoor died on 3 March 2011 in Mumbai at the age of 70.
