On this day, devotees wake up before sunrise and take a bath in the holy river Ganga. While taking bath, keep chanting ‘Har Har Ganga’. People who are not familiar with taking bath in the river Ganga should add Ganga water to their bath water and take bath. After that worship the Sun God. Also worship Mother Ganga. Donate fruits and clothes among the needy on the day of Ganga Dussehra. By doing this one gets auspicious results.

After taking bath on the day of Ganga Dussehra, go to the temple and anoint the Shivalinga with Ganga water and save some water and bring it home. Sprinkling the entire house with that water removes negativity. With this the problems in getting money end.

If you are troubled by debt, then to overcome this problem, on the day of Ganga Dussehra, take a black thread of your length, wrap it in a coconut and offer it to Shivalinga. After this, pray to Lord Shiva to end your problem. In the evening, float a coconut wrapped in black thread in running water. Don’t look back after streaming. It is believed that by doing this one gets relief from the problem. Debt-related problems go away.
