Changes have been made in the proposed Delhi-Haryana Rapidex Corridor. As per the reports, the line will now pass through Gurugram’s Cyber Hub, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk and Khedki Daula station along with the entire Gurugram Expressway (NH-8) extension. Earlier, the alignment of the corridor was going through Old Delhi-Gurugram Road. Here Rapidex track was available only on NH-8 at Signature Towers.
In the new plan, Rapidex corridor will enter from Gurugram through Aerocity, Cyber Hub will be the first station in Gurugram. However, this will require preparation of a new DPR, which may take a lot of time for the project. According to the new plan, the Rapidex track will pass through Cyber Hub from Aerocity along the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. From Cyber Hub, it will shift to Kherki Daula on the other side of the expressway, where a three-level underground station will be built. Its next three stations – Manesar, Pachgaon and Dharuhera – will be underground.
The track will end at Dharuhera, different from the previous plan. In this, the 107 km long corridor was ending at Shahjahanpurnimrana-Behror in Rajasthan. This will shorten the corridor by about 80 km, of which 60 km will be in Gurgaon and Rewari districts of Haryana. Cyber Hub, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk and Kherki Daula stations will be underground.
Earlier Rapidex’s route was from Aerocity to Kapashera border and further to Atul Kataria Chowk via Old Delhi-Gurgaon Road. Crossing Signature Towers and Rajiv Chowk was proposed to reach Kherki Daula. Please note that changes have yet to be made in the Delhi portion of the Rapidex Corridor.
Starting from Sarai Kale Khan here, Rapidex will reach Aerocity via Jor Bagh and Munirka. Let us tell you that the entire Delhi section of Rapidex will be underground. A transport ministry official said this corridor will cater to the needs of a large number of office goers working in the cyber city area. NCRTC, which is constructing the Rapidex corridor, is preparing a new DPR.
Earlier in July this year, CM Manohar Lal Khattar had held the Delhi government responsible for the delay in work on the Delhi-Gurgaon SNB and Delhi-Sonipat routes. Khattar had alleged that the Delhi government was creating obstacles in both these routes. Now, the Delhi-Haryana RapideX Line will enter Gurgaon from Aerocity
