Best Upcoming Phones to Look Forward to in 2024

Best Upcoming Phones to Look Forward to in 2024: New phones coming out in 2024, from the iPhone 16 to the Galaxy S24. With the new year coming up, many people really need to get a new phone. There are a lot of entry-level, mid-range, and top phones for these people to choose from right now, and there are even deals going on until the end of the year to make the deal even better. But what if your old phones are still working?

In this case, you might want to hold off on getting a new phone for a few more months. That way, when you do decide to buy one next year, you can get one that is even more future-proof. If that sounds like you, check out these phones that will be coming out in 2024.

Best Upcoming Phones to Look Forward to in 2024

OnePlus 12

After the OnePlus Open came out, everyone was talking about the OnePlus 12. The company’s main product line made its appearance in China in early December 2023. It is planned to go global in January 2024.

There is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, up to 24GB of memory, and 1TB of storage on this phone. It is a real bestseller. The 6.82-inch AMOLED screen can get as bright as 4500 nits, which is crazy, and the big 5400mAh battery can handle 100W direct charging or 50W wireless top-ups.

The “iPhone 15 Pro Max

The one that all Apple fans can’t wait for. The iPhone 16 lineup will almost certainly be shown off in early September 2024. It will include a number of styles and at least one Pro model. Not much is known right now, but Apple is said to be putting a lot of effort into AI this year, just like the rest of the phone world.

Both a new generation of Apple chips and a new version of iOS are possible. We also hope that the 5x zoom lens from the iPhone 15 Pro Max makes its way to the iPhone 15 Pro, which is easier to hold in your hand.

Phone 2: Nothing

The third smartphone from Nothing is still just a whisper. The new company has invited people to an event in February at Mobile World Congress 2024, but rumors say that a phone won’t be shown. Instead, we can expect official proof that it exists and maybe the first information about the hardware.

It makes sense that the new phone would be an entry-level model, maybe taking the place of Phone 1. In July, it will have been around for two years. The more expensive Phone 2 probably has another year to go before it needs to be replaced. Patent filing pictures show a design that looks a lot like the present Nothing line-up, with a clear back and logo lighting. Some people have said it will be Nothing Phone 3, while others say it will be Nothing 1a.

The Samsung Galaxy S24

People still like Samsung’s Galaxy S phone trio more than any other smartphone brand that isn’t Apple. People really hope that Samsung will come up with something really great for 2024 because the S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra that came out this year weren’t huge steps forward from the last generation. Rumor has it that the reveal will happen in January, which is about a month earlier than normal.

At the moment, we think that the S24 Ultra will use titanium to keep up with the iPhone 15 Pro. Metal is what the S24 and S24+ should use. There may not be a big change to the camera gear, and Samsung may go back to using two chips. That could mean that the US gets Qualcomm hardware and other countries gets phones with Exynos chips. Both should be about AI, which will almost certainly be a big deal in 2024.

The Asus ROG Phone 8

Asus’s newest smartphone for gamers is expected to come out in an extremely short amount of time. Because Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPUs came out before the normal plan for phones, there will only be six months between generations of ROG Phones. The new phone will be shown off by Asus at CES in Las Vegas in January 2024, but it’s not clear if it will go on sale right away everywhere.

We expect the same hardware in either case, along with active cooling devices to keep the parts cool while you play games for hours on end. There will probably be some gamer-style LEDs or an OLED strip on the back, and the screen and battery will be big enough. The price will also stay the same; the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is still one of the most expensive phones that doesn’t fold.

The Xiaomi 14 series

Xiaomi usually shows off its newest smartphones in December. They are first released in Xiaomi’s home country of China, and then they are made available to more people around the world in the spring of the following year. That changes in 2023, when the company announces its next wave of phones at Qualcomm’s yearly Snapdragon Summit in October.

The cause? It’s one of the first phones to have a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, which adds amazing AI smarts to the device and makes it faster, more efficient, and smarter in the camera. We kept China on this list for now because it was still first in line and the rest of the world was likely to follow in early 2024.

The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro will be the two types. We still don’t know anything about a Xiaomi 14 Ultra that costs even more. The Pro will have a metal body that looks like the iPhone 15, which should help it lose weight. The screens on both phones are 3000 nits bright, which is brighter than any other phone on the market right now. The Xiaomi 14 has a 6.36-inch screen and the Xiaomi 14 Pro has a 6.73-inch screen. Each one has a rotation rate of 120Hz. Both have three cameras on the back, but the Pro has smarts that let you change the lens to help in low light. Leica is also back to help. On top of Android 14, they have a new HyperOS skin. The world will start to use it in February.

Up until then, you can still get a Xiaomi 13 or 13 Pro. These are two of the best phones for taking pictures.

The Honor Magic 6 Pro

The Honor Magic 6 Pro, which was also announced at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, will finally come out with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip inside. There will be a “Magic Capsule” at the top of the screen that tracks your eyes and shows you information. This chip is partly based on Apple’s Dynamic Island.

The phone probably won’t come out until Mobile World Congress in February, so we don’t know about any other specs yet, but we think photography will still be a big part of it. There are a lot of rumors about a 1in main camera and a strong zoom lens right now. You can still get the Magic 5 Pro for less than RRP, and it has one of the best photos on a phone.
