Axar Patel, an Indian international cricketer, is a left handed batsman and bowler. He played many IPL matches as well as international matches. Also his performance is very good in national as well as international matches.

About Axar Patel: Axar Rajeshbhai Patel, popularly known as Akshar Patel, is an Indian international cricketer who currently plays for Gujarat and the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. Patel was born on the 20th of January, 1994. He is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls orthodox slow left-arm bowling. He made his One-Day International debut against Bangladesh on June 15, 2014.

He was included in India’s 15-man squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup, which took place in Australia and New Zealand. He made his Test debut for India against England on February 13, 2021, taking seven wickets. In his Test debut, he became the ninth Indian bowler to take five wickets.

Axar Patel IPL Career

Patel was signed by the Indian Premier League’s Mumbai Indians in 2013, however, he did not play till he was released. He was signed by Kings XI Punjab in 2014 and had an impressive season, capturing 17 wickets. He was retained by Kings XI Punjab for the 2015 IPL season.

In 2015, batting farther down the order, he scored 206 runs and claimed 13 wickets for Kings XI Punjab. On May 1, 2016, he took four wickets in five deliveries, including the first (and only) hat-trick of the 2016 IPL season, helping 

Axar Patel became the eighth Indian player, and the second left-arm spinner after Dilip Doshi, to take five wickets on his Test debut.

In December 2018, he was bought by the Delhi Capitals in the player auction for the 2019 Indian Premier League. His services were retained by the Delhi Capitals for the 2021 season.

Axar Patel International Career

Following his great performance in the 2014 IPL, Patel was named to the Indian ODI squad for the Bangladesh tour. He made his One-Day International debut in the series opener at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, collecting 1/59 runs. He was a member of India’s 15-man team for the 2015 Cricket World Cup.

He made his Twenty20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe on July 17, 2015. He was named a reserve player for India’s World Cup squad in 2019.

Patel was named to India’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be held in September 2021. Shardul Thakur took his position in India’s squad on October 13, 2021.

Patel was named to India’s squad for New Zealand’s November 2021 visit to India.

In June 2022, Patel was included in India’s T20I team for a series against Ireland.

Patel earned his first ODI half-century against the West Indies on 24 July 2022. He scored 64 runs off of 35 balls while remaining unblemished and hitting the game-winning six.

On January 20, 1984, Axar Patel was born to Rajesh Patel and Pritiben Patel. His full name is Axar Rajeshbhai Patel, often spelled Akshar Patel. Axar Patel aspired to be a mechanical engineer rather than a cricketer. However, when he was 15 years old, a buddy saw his cricket talent and urged him to compete in an inter-school competition.

On his birthday in January 2022, Axar Patel became engaged to Meha. Meha was born in Nadiad, Gujarat, and by profession, she is a dietician and nutritionist. On the UK tour, Meha was also seen alongside Axar Patel.
